September 2 – October 7
Here’s a quick overview of what’s happening under our roof August 21 – September 29
What/Where Is Your Tent of Meeting?
I know the ache of vision that comes in such fragments, the terrible wonder of glory that arrives but in glimpses.
Hosting the Holy (wholly extraordinary)
I am so very grateful for the work of my Doctoral programme, and the chance to study with both Tom Long and Richard Ward, who showed us students how holy humour inflects so much of our Biblical library, and to good effect.
God Pitched a Tent Among Us
There is something magical about pitching a tent under the stars. You feel like you can almost touch heaven.
Focussing on the upcoming preaching texts, RevE will help participants to “mind the gaps”, fill in the blanks, uncover layers in the text, and bring today’s contexts into conversation with the Gospel as told by Mark. 4 Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:15, starting Sept 19 or 4 Thursdays from 9:15 to 11:00, starting Sept 20.
As a congregation we will discern together what vision God has for us between now and 2020. We’ll launch Vision 2020 at a Faith Fiesta at Cap St. Jacques on Saturday, Sept 15 from 10-6, continuing with Sunday worship at CPU on Sept 16.
Our summer worship series explores the many times Scripture reminds us that God is not only “up there” in heaven, but “down here” amongst us, pitching a tent right in the midst of creation.
