Couples Group is taking a season off…
but stay tuned to the website for upcoming details, or contact us at email@example.com for more information.
At Cedar Park, we make taking care of our relationships a priority.
The Couples Group is a place to do just that. To be clear, we define a couple as two people who are committed to each other, whether young in years or young at heart, married or not married, gay or straight, anglophone or francophone, from this church or from no church. The only prerequisite is a desire to grow in your relationship, enjoy some friendly fellowship and have a great date night. Babes in arms are more than welcome to attend with their parents.
Throughout 2010, the Couples Group met each month at 6:30 pm at the Cedar Park church hall, with the evening finishing up between 9 and 10 pm (depending on how good we are at tearing ourselves away from the conversation!) Each couple brought a main dish or dessert to pass, which made for a delectable menu every time. In 2011, we are looking forward to new and different evenings of fun.
Here are some of the highlights of 2010:
- “How we metâ€: Each couple brought along pictures from their early years and shared the story of how their paths crossed. We also played a game of “How well do you know your partnerâ€, eliciting a good deal of laughter and lively commentary.
- Christmas Caroling: We started out with a bring-your-own-hot-pizza buffet and then ventured out in to the Cedar Park neighbourhood to share some musical Christmas cheer. When our toes got cold, we returned to the church hall for steaming hot chocolate and warm conversation.
- A Valentine’s Day dinner dance, complete with a chocolate fountain and an electronic jukebox. Who would have thought you could boogie on down at church?!
- An evening of learning with an introduction to Imago relationship theory
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the church office at 514 695 3337 if you plan on attending one of our events.
Making time to focus on one’s partner relationship isn’t always easy, but the payback is enormous. Attending Couples Group is a step in the right direction.
