“Lessons & Carols 2011â€, an evening Christmas Carol Service with a 50-voice choir under the direction of Douglas Knight took place on Saturday, December 17 at 7:30 PM. One of Cedar Park United’s largest choral events of the year, this service was filled with anthems of the season, including a few choruses from the “Messiahâ€, and sing-along carols, all tied together with scripture readings to bring the Christmas story to us all.
The church sanctuary, decked out in its Christmas finery, was filled to the rafters. A freewill offering was collected for Saint Columba House and the Montreal City Mission. Following the service, a reception was hosted by our Social Justice Ministry with plenty of goodies provided by the choir. It was a wonderful experience for all involved. If you missed this one, you can be sure to make next year’s carol service!
