At Cedar Park’s first-ever pet-blessing service, a moving experience was had by all.
Dogs, baby chicks and even stuffed animals were brought along to this special service inspired by the works of St. Francis of Assisi. With splendid weather at hand, Rev. Ron led the congregation in a beautiful service. Babies and young children enjoyed the music and festive atmosphere while sitting on blankets spread across the grass, and the pets in attendance showed clear appreciation for the smell of roasting chicken which wafted across the lawn.
At the close of the service, several tributes and words of thanks were given to Rev. Ron, who has served as Cedar Park’s interim minister since September 2010, and whose last Sunday with the congregation is June 26.
The congregation then enjoyed a delicious BBQ prepared by the men of the church. A thank you is in order to all those who shared their time to make this outstanding day of worship and celebration a reality.
