Funerals and Memorial Services

Cedar Park United is ready to help you and your family through the grieving process over the death of a loved one.  As Christian community we are here to offer pastoral support, and to help you prepare a Funeral or Memorial Service, to be held in the Church sanctuary or at the chapel of a funeral home, when the deceased or family have a close connection to Cedar Park United.

Our Minister, Rev. Elisabeth Jones will meet with you and family to prepare a celebration of the life of the deceased, which allows room for grief, memories and thankfulness to be expressed in the context of worship and community.

Our sanctuary accommodates up to 340 people and, for larger numbers, we can help you arrange for overflow seating and a live-feed broadcast into the Community Hall.

The Community Hall may also be rented for a reception after the service, if desired. You may hire our professional caterer to work with our experienced team of church volunteers to set up, serve and clean up.  Your family may want to prepare a display of photographs and memorabilia for your friends to look at during the reception, as this promotes the sharing of stories and warm memories.

Designating Cedar Park United Church for memorial donations is a meaningful way to honour your loved one’s memory, and ensures that their legacy will carry forward through the many ministries, projects, services and social justice initiatives of this congregation. Each donor will receive a personal thank you letter and income tax receipt from the church.

When the time comes, call Cedar Park United. We are here for you. Contact our Church Administrator, Elizabeth Chown Lafreniere at 514 695-3337 or
