On Sunday, June 9, five young families, their children, and several kind helpers, transformed the abandoned yard behind the church into a useable space for outdoor children’s activities. Braving mosquitos and knee-to-neck-high overgrowth, the team uprooted weeds, cut back branches, carted away garbage and cleared pathways. For five hours, they doggedly worked towards their goal: creating new space for our growing young family ministry.
A huge, huge thank you goes out to KidZone coordinator Christie Smith-Favit , who got this vision off the ground, and to our church administrator, Elizabeth Chown-Lafrenière, for preparing for this event.
Now we can keep dreaming…of a playground for our little ones, a vegetable garden…? If you would like to participate in the continuing renovation and rejuvenation of this space, please contact the Church office.
