Cedar Park United is ramping up to full building accessibility!
As part of the church’s Five Year Plan, and thanks to a federal government grant (Enabling Accessibility in the Community) which will pay for 75% of the project ($35,000), our building will soon be accessible to all. This is a goal we have been working towards for many years, and we are absolutely thrilled!
To ensure a safe welcome for all our building users, we’ll be replacing our cracked and uneven walkway in July 2015. The new walk will be accompanied by ramps for wheelchairs and walkers to both buildings, as well as a new door and automated door opener for the CE Building (which houses the Community Hall and offices). This new addition will allow us to open our doors even wider to the community.
A dedicated team of Cedar Parkers has spent countless hours preparing the grant and planning the work that will be done. We are extremely grateful to them, and to the federal government! Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project!
