What people have shared about CPU
From a senior who’s moved to the other side of Canada, but who still connects via online technologies
“There are many changes in our Cedar Park home. Changes that took courage, hard work and devotion, qualities that are the foundation of Cedar Park. ”
— June
From a parent who no longer lives in Montreal
“We sometimes drive the two hours to come to Cedar Park because it’s a place where we can fill our wells—with hot tea and living water. We go there to bask in our belovedness (and everyone else’s too). That kind of a place is worth a drive.”
— Marina
After renting our Community Hall and Kitchen for a fundraiser
“Everyone was in awe of your kitchen, the church and the energy of the place. We definitely made a great choice using CPU and we are very grateful to you for giving us the space at such a reasonable price.”
— Roseann
From a Global Cedar Parker
“The effort made by CPU to welcome me and make me feel that I belong, especially during the period of social isolation, meant so much. I have come to see that everyone is important and no one is left behind at Cedar Park United.”
— Jim
From a regular social media follower
“Thank you so much for sharing. Your social media posts are always so incredibly true.”
— Jocelyn
After receiving Sunday Soul Food for the first time
“Wow! That is so rich I need to go on a retreat for the weekend just to read through the experience of the service. Thank you!”
— Cathy
From a Mini Connections mom
“Wednesdays are the one day of the week when I don’t have to ask my kids more than once to get ready—they can’t wait to get out the door. We look forward to Mini Connections all week, and when we can’t make it, our day just feels…flat.”
— Tania
From a local Cedar Parker
“The people in this community are wonderful – warm, welcoming, and supportive – and I love that it’s an affirming, inclusive, and progressive congregation. The Sunday services and weekday programs are thought-provoking and have really helped me to understand and grow in my faith. I also really like how the congregation lives their faith through individual and group action, whether it’s in donations, volunteering, sponsoring an immigrant family, etc. This is an incredible community and I’m happy to be part of it!’”
— Heidi
From a Global Cedar Parker
“From the first day I found Cedar Park online, I have felt deep comfort and bold challenge to live in ways that echo God’s Dream for the world. From two provinces away, I have been warmly welcomed into the communities of Cedar Park and I’m looking forward to being onsite in April!”
— Margrét
From a very young Cedar Parker, upon hearing the family was coming to worship
“Yay! Church!”
— Henri
From a Global Cedar Parker
“Cedar Park felt like home when we lived in Canada and you still go out of your way to make us feel included in the community by keeping us informed and in touch with the church and its goings-on.
We loved joining the Christmas Eve service via Zoom on Christmas morning from hot sweltering Australia, Thank you for keeping services online and in-person.”
— Cath
From a local senior
“As I don’t own a vehicle anymore, I really enjoy the Sunday service on line. It keeps me up-to-date on all the activities from the comfort of my home.”
— Jennie
From a Global Cedar Parker
“I am a member of the CPU diaspora. I find spiritual and intellectual enrichment through worship services, study groups and Rev. Elisabeth's Sunday Prayers on Facebook. Cedar Park United is a community of progressive thinkers and warm, friendly people. Thank you for making it possible (despite distance) to be involved with the church and re-connect with dear friends in these chaotic times. ”
— Margie Ann
From a local Cedar Parker
“We enjoy the overall sense of community within CPU and I enjoy the camaraderie of the Men’s Group.”
— Murray
From a Global Cedar Parker
“The services are so clear and distinct that my hearing aids pick them up perfectly. I really appreciate Rev. Elisabeth’s creativity in presenting her insightful messages—they aways are a high point in my Sunday afternoon. I am also still using her Lenten Prayers from last year, they still remain relevant. Thank you for your wonderful ministry.”
— Laurraine
From a Global Cedar Parker
“Cedar Park is a wonderful community of spiritual, loving, inclusive, and caring people. I feel very lucky and grateful to be able to continue to be a part of that community even when I'm 3,000 miles away!”
