Our COVID Safety Guidelines
Our Congregational Board has approved clear guidelines for our on-site gatherings to keep everyone—especially the most vulnerable among us—as safe as possible.
Resuming Building Use Safely in 2021-2022
The Board has approved the following Guidelines on September 14, 2021.
In order to create as safe an environment as possible to enable us to resume activities on-site on the Cedar Park United church premises at 204 Lakeview, Pointe-Claire, we will:
respect Government and Public Health Directives, mandates and recommendations;
be guided by the Nakonha:ka Regional Council COVID-19 Resource team recommendations;
make decisions about building use that are framed by our community’s Gospel values of
Looking out for others first, especially the vulnerable, which include:
Immunocompromised, or immuno-suppressed adults and children
Unvaccinated children and those who live and work with them
We will try not to exclude those who most need to regather, but we will not jeopardize the health/safety and wellbeing of the many.
Currently, following these principles, the following practices will be in place for all activities happening on-site (in the church building or on the church grounds) at 204 Lakeview Avenue, Pointe-Claire:
we will require evidence of double vaccination of all eligible people over 12 for all on-site events;
worship services are (for the time being) for vaccinated persons only, regardless of age
at designated Children/Youth/Family events, unvaccinated children may attend with vaccinated adults
we will gather outside when possible, and make ventilation a priority indoors;
we will wear masks whenever we gather (indoors or out);
we will continue with contact tracing, pre-registration and registration for all entries to the building and to all activities (even those held exclusively outside);
we will maintain optimal distancing (2m) at all times, and refrain from human-to-human touching;
we will wash/sanitize hands frequently;
we will minimize touch points wherever possible;
we will practise CoVid protocol cleaning between users and user groups;
ALL groups who use the building will be required to sign a Space Use Agreement, so that we can covenant equally with all users to keep the building as safe as possible for all who use it.
This policy will be subject to review and adjustment by the Board, as circumstances warrant.
