The Weekend Wonder

The Weekend Wonder offers a gentle spiritual focus for your family’s weekend—wherever you are, and whatever you’re up to.

  • Connected to our current worship focus, it’s a very simple spiritual question that you can consider at breakfast or on the way home from hockey practice, or maybe while you’re taking a family walk in nature.

We’re also offering a Wonderlist of music that you can to add to the background of your weekend.

If, after wondering together as a family on Friday and Saturday, you decide you’d like to keep wondering in community, you’re welcome to come to Sunday worship at 10 AM. Onsite, we’ll bring the Weekend Wonder into our Children’s Worship experience in ways that are unique to a group setting.

Who knows? By Sunday night, you may find that the Weekend Wonder has been wonderful for your family in surprising ways!

The Weekend Wonder question

We’ll post the question on our Facebook and Instagram pages on Friday afternoons between 3 and 4.

You may want to screenshot it so you have it on hand on your phone, or you can download it from here. Feel free to share it with anyone else you’ll be spending your weekend with—grandparents or friends, for example.

And then start wondering! As the Sikh activist and wonder-proponant Valarie Kaur says, “Wonder is the wellspring for love.” The more curious we get about the world around us, and the more we wonder about other people and Creation, the more our empathy grows, too.

As your weekend comes to a close on Sunday night, consider returning to our social media feed to comment on how your wonderings have been. We’ll all be richer for your feedback!

The Wonderlist

This eclectic collection is an eclectic compilation of a variety of different kinds of music—all with a focus on the beauty of Creation.

Do you have a song you’d like to add, too? We’d love for this to be a collaborative musical effort, so reach out and let us know!

Wondering in community on Sundays

If you’d like to continue wondering in community, you’re always welcome to come to onsite worship at 10 AM at 204 Lakeview in Pointe-Claire. This gathering for children of all kinds and all ages (and their parents, if they choose) takes place outside in almost any weather and begins partway through the service (at about 10:15).

If you have any questions at all before you come, please feel free to reach out to Martha Randy, Family and Youth Ministries Coordinator. You are welcome here, absolutely, and just the way you are.
