Planning your wedding

The congregation and staff of Cedar Park United are delighted that you are considering having your wedding in our church. We are committed to doing our best to help you and your family in the process of celebrating this very special day. Cedar Park United offers a ministry of love and welcome to all people in the community.

The following information is to assist you and the church to plan the wedding service.

Anyone who is legally entitled to be married in Québec is welcome to have their wedding at Cedar Park United.

Initial contact with the church

The ministry personnel and staff will do their best to answer all of your questions and accommodate any special requests.

As we wish this service to be as personal as possible, ministry personnel welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your partner so that we might get to know you.

First, though, it is important that you confirm the availability of the minister and the church building, as well as the time and date of the service, as soon as possible.

Planning the service

Once the service time has been confirmed by the rentals co-ordinator, the minister will meet with you to lead you through planning the service. The minister will give you an outline of the service with options to choose for each part.

You can also meet with the church staff if you have other questions concerning the use of the church facility use.

Music

Music is an important part of a service. An organ and piano are located in the sanctuary. You must use a musician from Cedar Park United. If one is unavailable, arrangements for you to supply your own organist or pianist must meet with the approval of the church music director. All music selections are to be discussed with the ministerial staff.

We can assist you in booking soloists or instrumentalists, or you may wish to use a person of your own choice.

Reception

After the service, many people wish to have a reception. Cedar Park United has a Community Hall and kitchen which are available to host receptions.

Financial matters

In order to cover church expenses, the cost is $1,250. This includes the use of the church facility, the time and participation of the minister and the pianist, administration, archiving and sound.

Should you require additional staff such as soloists, musicians or custodians, they can be arranged at additional cost.

**Note the same rate is charged to members and non-members of Cedar Park United. This is due to Canada Revenue Agency regulations in order to comply with the Income Tax Act for registered charities.

**Any transportation, hotel or other fees for staff for wedding ceremonies not held at Cedar Park United will be in addition to the above cost.
